UNLAND GmbH was founded 1957 by Gerhard Unland. Today the Unland Group belongs to the leading production companies in Europe for curtain and decoration fabrics. Made in Germany is not only a synonym for UNLAND.
Order of events:
1957   Gerhard Unland, successful textile-engine producer and co-partner of Textilmaschinenfabrik
          Hagemann & Co located in Steinfurt founded a curtain-production.
1963   Relocating and new building of the company in Saterland (area of Oldenburg-Germany). Under the
          leadership of Gerhard Unland and his son Heinz, they build up one of the distinguished curtain –
          and decoration fabric production in Europe.
1973   Finish and move into the new administration building.
1979   Construction of decoration factory in Saterland with a modern weaving factory incl. 35 looms
1982   Celebration of 25 years UNLAND GmbH and 70 years of the founder Gerhard Unland.
1986   Welcome of the 1000th participant of the UNLAND-Seminars.
1987   Implementation of the brand PIERRE CARDIN – Paris, the exclusive range of UNLAND GmbH
1989   Entrance of Hendrik Unland, grandson of Gerhard Unland into the business management of UNLAND GmbH
1996   Investment of Daun & Cie. AG, today German biggest textile conglomerate, in UNLAND GmbH
2003   Acquisition of the brands ELVO – CORDIMA - INTERIEUR
2007   50th anniversary of UNLAND GmbH and 20th anniversary license of trade mark PIERRE CARDIN,
          50th anniversary of brand ELVO.
2008   Introduction of the sunscreen product Unland SUN - plissé and sliding panels
